Experience

Erik Barnes has been working in the people development industry in the greater China area for eight years. He is an experienced facilitator and trainer for a variety of management and communication skills. Over the years he has worked with several Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of industries. Erik also works as a skills and executive coach.

Erik’s work experience includes sales manager, international trade and program manager. He has worked in and with both small companies and large multinationals. He brings a rich knowledge of business and cross-culture experience to the classroom.

Currently Erik is certified to train courses for Microsoft’s Readiness, Employee Development and Engineering Excellence groups. He trains in a variety of subjects, including influence, negotiations, interpersonal awareness and a variety of high-level communication skills.
An American citizen, Erik has also lived many years in Europe and in the greater China area. He speaks fluent Chinese and French. He regularly does training and executive coaching in Mandarin Chinese.

Erik is active in the community as the co-founder of the Facilitator and Trainer (FaT) network as well as a prominent leader in the Toastmasters and China Improv groups. His activeness and numerous awards are proof of his commitment to developing himself and other people.

Education

Erik has an MBA in International Business from Pepperdine University, the #2 MBA program in the world for Organization Behavior according to The Financial Times. He studied there with a full-tuition scholarship.
